Legal Audio Consults on MSNBC's Today and Dateline Programs
At 5:52 a.m. on December 26, 1996, Patsy Ramsey called 911 from the kitchen of her Boulder Colorado home to report the kidnapping of Jonbenet Ramsey, her six-year old daughter.

"We have a kidnapping. Hurry, please!"
"Explain to me what's going on. Ok?"
"There. We have a, there's a note left and our daughter's gone." |
What Happened Next
In his book, JonBenet: Inside the Ramsey Murder Investigation, former Boulder police detective Steve Thomas claims the phone didn't disconnect when Patsy hung up. He says when the 911 tape is enhanced, you can hear Jonbenet's parents talking to their son Burke, who the Ramseys say was asleep at the time. Will enhancing the tape show the Ramseys were doctoring their story from day one?
Analyzing the Tape
Frank Piazza, President of Legal Audio, the FBI and the Secret Service say "no". Their analysis of the 911 tape supports the Ramseys" claim. Neither agency reports hearing a conversation after the phone was hung up. NBC News called on Frank Piazza, President of Legal Audio, for an independent expert analysis.
Interviewed in his state of the art New York City laboratory Mr. Piazza said, "I would say my findings are much more in parallel with the FBI's findings. There's not enough there to give any sort of conclusive, intelligible argument."
The interview and clips of Frank analyzing the tape were broadcast on the popular Today and Dateline programs on July 8, 2003 and reproduced in part on the MSNBC website.
