Our job is to help you -- the investigator, prosecutor or defense attorney -- prepare and present multimedia evidence. From recording to enhancement and restoration, to conversion and copying, to organization and presentation, to expert testimony, we do it all. We tend to the evidence so you can tend to the case.
Conversion or Digitization
Evidence doesn't always occur in a format that's convenient or comfortable to use. Converting your evidence from analog to digital is the most practical way to review it on a PC or laptop. Digital recordings are easier to analyze, easier to index and search, and can be stored on a variety of media, including CD and DVD-ROMs, USB thumb drives and computer hard drives. Digital files can also be edited to work seamlessly within most trial presentation software.
Restoration and Enhancement
Many of our clients first come to us to enhance a poorly recorded conversation or video, or to restore a damaged tape. We can handle virtually any format, many forms of physical damage, and identify and delete noises most people would think impossible. We've worked on cases and materials including body wires, phone taps, 911 recordings, cockpit voice recorders, and court hearing tapes, just to name a few. Analysis and Authenticity
Analysis and authentication of a suspected tape that may have been tampered, edited or rerecorded over involves complete examination of the original tapes, machinery used to make the recording and a chain-of-custody log. Copies of our findings and a written document will be provided at the completion of the examination.
Expert Testimony
Frank Piazza, President of Legal Audio, is an audio engineer and producer with over 20 years of experience providing audio services to a wide array of clients. He has enhanced thousands of hours of audio/video evidence and has provided audio analysis on numerous Federal and Civil cases including the U.S. v Shah and the JonBenet Ramsey case. He is available to serve as an expert witness on any tape or digital document that Legal Audio produces. A CV copy is available for review.
Image Extraction
After your video has been captured and digitized, we can extract images from video footage. This enables enables us to enhance, resize and color-correct each new file. We receive and work with many different video formats including VHS, DVD, government surveillance systems, Police Mobile DVR Cams and home security systems to name a few.
Synchronized Audio/Video Transcripts
Synchronized audio/video transcripts are an easy to use tool for efficient trial preparation and powerful courtroom presentations. Send us a video copy (VHS or DVD) of your deposition along with a text transcript, and we'll synchronize the video with a close-captioned transcript on a CD or DVD. Synchronized audio/video transcripts provide keyword search capability and allow you to create, edit and email clips from your own computer. They are compatible with most trial presentation software. Audio/text synchronization is available as well.
